I’m so excited about this new find you guys! Do you have a great cruelty free and nontoxic hair dye? Many of you have asked me where to find cruelty free hair dye, and I finally have one I can recommend! It’s a non-toxic cruelty free hair dye that you can do at home! The brand is vegan, cruelty free, and free of ammonia, PPD, resorcinol, parabens, GMOs, lead, artificial fragrance, phthalates and formaldehyde. It’s made with fair trade and EcoCert organic ingredients and even the bottle is BPA-free! It’s non-permanent and because there’s no peroxide, it won’t lighten hair – only darken. It WILL cover grey and it’s safe for chemically treated hair. You really need to check out the ingredient list because it looks more like a smoothie than a hair dye!
I asked my hair guru, Patricia Lynn Laas, if she would apply it for me while she was giving me my regular hair cut. She normally uses only salon brands, but she agreed to try it on me since she knows I’m a beauty blogger and always trying new things. She also knows that I’m CRAZY sensitive to everything – and most hair dye gives me a 2-day migraine. I’m happy to say this box color did NOT make me sick! It didn’t smell great when applied – but it was an earthy scent – not a chemical one. I used the Chocolate shade and it was warmer than I wanted, so I think next time I’ll try the Dark Brown.
This box color honestly checks so many boxes. It’s vegan, cruelty free, free of the chemicals that make me (and many others) sick, won’t damage your hair, very inexpensive (about $15) and it’s easy to use at home (no colors to mix – just apply and go). The only drawbacks are that it’s not permanent, so it won’t last quite as long as permanent dye, and it can’t lighten, so it’s for darker shades only. I’m not sure if it’s available in stores in the US, but you can easily buy it online, and right now shipping is free!
